Making money out of an advent calendar

By admin • Dec 1st, 2008 • Category: Twitter updates

Ha! This made me laugh. I have some server space with a company called LiquidSix. They’ve sent out an advent calendar for customers. I though it would be the usual trite crimbo offering. But no.

It’s a sales tool.

And a good money-making sales tool at that. The execution is poor, but the handling of user expectation if you buy what’s on offer is good - ‘As some of our advent calendar offers can be very popular, please allow 24 hours for a response after contacting sales, rather than usual short response time.’

In that one sentence they’ve told us how good their service usually is, and they’ve told us that their offers are so good they’re likely to be over-run with requests.

A nice bit of Direct Marketing.
