‘10 DDB, UK // Virgin Media TTL Pitch

Concept | Art Direction | Copywriter

Challenge
Brought in to conceive and write digital ads and campaign site parts for DDB UK’s combined Above The Line, Direct, and Digital pitch for the UK Virgin Media business which includes TV, phone, and broadband services.

Solution
I wrote and sketched the following ads. DDB won the business which catapulted them to the top of Campaign Magazine’s New Business League for ATL, Direct, and Digital for the first time, for any agency.

Landing page - ‘card’ feature

Concept to hold all the benefits of the customer’s Virgin Media service - including Playlist as shown - on a ‘card’, animated and functioning similar to an iPhone app.

Direct response leaderboard banner - Dads

Simple animation playing on the popular language of Top Gear.

Direct response Facebook banner - Profile page

Roadblock banners - synchronised to demonstrate Virgin Multiplay

Interactive banner - sync phone call to video in-banner.

Urged to phone number in banner and get to hear voice of actor asking you to select a clip to watch. The caller’s selection is then played.

MPU banner - Teens & Kids

Using the Glee show ‘loser’ sign image.

MPU banner - Mums

Simple recognition ad pushing the ‘pick up where you left off’ benefit of Virgin Media:

“…pick up where you left off on your phone, laptop, or TV minutes, hours, or four-trips-to-the-supermarket-one-piano-lesson-a-parent’s-evening-and-a-bouncy-castle-birthday-party, later.”

Direct response Facebook banner - Fan page
